Our Commitment To Privacy
Collection of Information
We do not collect any personally identifiable information about you unless you voluntarily submit contact information to us – such as name, phone, email address, and mailing address – by filling out a form or survey, registering your email address, or emailing us. (We do, however, collect non-personally identifiable information about you in a number of ways, including tracking your activities through your IP address or most-recently-visited URL.) If you voluntarily submit contact information, you authorize Optitek to use the provided information to fulfill your specific request, personalize the information being delivered to you, use your demographic information for calculation of aggregate customer data, and – if granted permission – add you to one of our mailing lists. Optitek does not actively market to children, and will never knowingly ask a child under 13 to divulge personal information.
Disclosure of Information
We do not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to any third parties. Please be advised that Optitek uses a third party company to provide delivery of e-mail newsletters and other messages over e-mail. Please be aware, in the event that we buy and/or sell business assets and/or divisions, that customer information is generally part of such a sale. We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information when: (1) permitted or required by law; or, (2) trying to protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud or unauthorized transactions; or, (3) investigating fraud.
Use of Information
The information we collect will be used to create customer profiles based on browsing or purchasing history for trend analysis, pattern detection, site administration, and marketing purposes. However, we do not use personally identifiable information collected from the website to send unsolicited mailings. Of course, if applicable, we do use personally identifiable information to perform the services for which such data was collected (i.e., if you sign up for an email newsletter, we will send the email newsletter to the address you provide us; we will use your email address to answer any email we receive, etc). Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications. If you no longer wish to receive our communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the footer included in each communication. Finally, we never use or share personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above.
Third Party Sites
This policy only addresses activities from our servers. Other sites (including those that we link to) may have their own policies, which we do not control, and thus are not addressed by this policy. Please note that when you click on links to other Web sites, we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Review and Removal of Your Personally Identifiable Data
If you provide us with personally identifiable information, we will provide you with a way to review the information we have on file and advise of either changes or removal of data. To do so, please notify us via email at the address below and we will provide you with your contact information for review. To make changes, send us the change(s) or removal request to the email below and we will comply within thirty (30) days. In the event of a removal request, we will use all reasonable efforts to ensure that your information is removed from our records. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
Cookies and Other Tracking Methods
Like many other websites, we may store some information on your computer in the form of a “cookie” or similar file. Cookies do not spy on you or otherwise invade your privacy, and they cannot invade your hard drive and steal information. Instead, cookies and other tracking technology are useful for gathering information in the aggregate regarding page visits, time on page, visitor bounce rates, and understanding how visitors use the site to enable us to make improvements. Personal information cannot be collected via cookies and other tracking technology, however, if you previously provided personally identifiable information, cookies may be tied to such information. You are always free to decline our cookies if your browser permits.
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate industry-standard physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Of course, there is no such thing as “perfect security” on the Internet, and we are not responsible for any breach.
