National Preparedness Month

US Department of Homeland Security

September 2012 marks the ninth annual National Preparedness Month, sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the US Department of Homeland Security.

Throughout September there will be activities across the country to promote

emergency preparedness. More than 3,000 organizations – national, regional, and local public and private organizations – are supporting emergency preparedness efforts and encouraging all Americans to take action. From power outages to terrorist attacks . . . hurricanes or tornados . . . floods to fires . . . the most important message is simple:Be Prepared
Get Ready
Be Informed
